Use of "definitive"

Hi I recently wanted to answer/acknowledge s'one who had sent me an email, and advise that a useful/meaningful response might take some time. My reply included the sentence "...might not be able to [reply definitively] until later today", however I'm wondering if perhaps the expression in brackets should have been "definitively reply". Is there any dif in meaning based on order in-which those words are used? Thanks for clarifying- Definitively yours, Ray (sorry couldn't help myself).
