Imperative Sentences

Can anyone help clear up my confusion wiht an imperative sentence? Most of the time I can look at a sentence and figure it out but sometimes I get completely confused and was wondeirng if there is something I can always look for in the sentence to make sure it is an imperative.

Like "eliminate the need for data collection" is that considered an imperative??? I think it is but I am not 100%

"Eliminate the need for data collection."

This is an imperative sentence. Imperative sentences are unique because they do not require a subject. For example, "Get out." or "Paint the fence."

I think that is one way to help identify them. If you could add the words "I want you to...", then it is probably an imperative sentence. I hope that helps.
