I am stuck. I have a homework assignment identifying parts of speech. What part of speech is the word correct in the sentence: We got the difficult answers correct. Help!
MM, tricky one. The word correct is an adjective. However, in this example you could claim that it is part of the verb 'to get something correct'. Therefore, you could argue that it is part of a compound verb.
