TOEFL, TOEFL

30. The copper sheets are riveted to an iron framework, ------ the shape of the statue.

 to forming
 forms
 forming
 which form

The answer sheet suggest "forming" as an answer. Can I have an explanation why is so please... and why I couldn't use "which form" option?

Thank you.

Re: TOEFL, TOEFL

This is all about the position of the 'which clause'.

In its current position, it pertains to framework and not copper sheets; therefore, only 'which forms' would be acceptable.
