Hello all. I get confused when commas are sometimes put before words such as 'either' and 'too' at the end of sentences and sometimes not. For examples:
There is no time to lose, either.
You'll not go far in life and you won't be happy either
Susan will probably see them too
"I like apples and bananas, too."
This is a great question. I see these type of commas all the time too. I cannot see any good reason to include the comma, but I nearly used one in that last sentence. (MMmmm, I paused quite naturally just before I typed 'too' and felt almost compelled to add a comma. However, I can think of no good reason to use one for grammatical reasons.
And, please excuse my 'these type' error in the last post. And, please excuse me starting these two sentences with 'And' - if you're against that sort of thing.
