please join mike and me

is this the correct use? people where i work insist on changing 'me' to 'i' in situations like this one. i know the trick of taking 'mike and' out for a prepositional phrase, but wanted to make sure that trick applies here as well before i start correcting people.

Re: please join mike and me

It's definitely 'me'.

Your trick works in this case too; e.g. "...join me".

Re: Re: please join mike and me

'I' is a subject pronoun. so we say 'Mike and i beat our children.' 'Me' is the object pronoun so we say 'the children beat Mike and me.' Thus if it's the doer of the action you use 'I' and if it's the receiver of the action you use me.
