I'm doubting myself here.

Would you say this punctuation is correct? (I could not get the magazine title to go into italics here).

According to the Atlantic Monthly, massage is an $11 billion a year industry. Still, while indulging in bodywork is becoming more widespread, (a new national chain, “Massage Envy,” hopes to bank on the growing momentum) few of us have been coached on how to best receive a massage.

Also, if I were to add a parenthetical sentence such as the one above, is the period inside or outside the parentheses?

Re: I'm doubting myself here.

Your version is acceptable. This is my favoured version:

The comma should be outside. Commas inside or outside follow logical rules. There is no set "commas go inside" ruling.
