Hey GM dude, I know I must always capitalize the
first letter of a sentence and usually the first word inside of quotes, but not always, right? Could you
please show me a couple of examples of when, you
don't capitalize the first word inside of quotation marks. Thanks and bien merci. Ton ami, TB
If the quotation is not a sentence, then there is usually no need to use a capital letter.
You are correct in your statement that you "must always capitalize the first letter of a sentence", but you should follow logic to determine whether your quotation needs a capital letter or not.
It is covered briefly in this lesson on capital letters.
