I forgot the name, but they are periods, usually three or four. What is the difference?

When you make a statement and end it, e.g., ....
In other words usually it is three, but one period
is for the end of statement or sentence, right?

the three 'dots' are called ellipsis

It is usual to use four 'dots' when an ellipsis ends a sentence.
