science - sciences

Hi,

when do I use the word "science" in plural, when do I use it in singular?
I´m sorry but I have not found an explanation yet.
Cheers

Re: science - sciences

I see it like this:

A science is a study of something. e.g. Aerodonetics is the science or study of gliding. Brontology is the science or study of thunder. I have just named two sciences.

The term science encapsulates them all. It's the equivalent of 'sport' - where 'hockey', 'rugby' and 'football' are the "sciences".
