This forum has a long history, by interent standards anyway-unfortunately it has been abandoned for far too long due to real life circumstances knocking the heck out of what had been my very real desire to keep this board alive and well forever so that all of us could meet here and communicate with each other everyday.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is even needed nowadays since the advent of facebook, etc...but I hope that this once thriving BB does bring some of us back together again and that maybe some new folks will join us as well!

CBS reporter rescued by iraqi army.

Richard Butler (a british national) cbs reporter captured by terrorists was rescued by an iraqi army patrol searching for weapons left by al SAdrs mahdi army. there was a brief exchange of fire. One terrorist was wounmded and two fled in the face of the iraqi army. Aparently Butler was grateful to the iraqi soldiers who saved him.
Later CBS will no doubt give credit to al sadr for saving him. I doubt if CBS will give the forces of good any credit for anything.

Re: CBS reporter rescued by iraqi army.

I read that on the news network, always good to hear that hostages are rescued. Great job goes out to the Iraq soldiers.

Re: CBS reporter rescued by iraqi army.

Maybe the iraqi army isnt as useless as the liberal press would make them out to be.

Re: CBS reporter rescued by iraqi army.

Well, hell, Duane, that is what I have been saying all along. You are the one that has been making all kind of nonsense claims about how the terrorists will take over without us there. (Though I can't help noticing how the terrorists never took the place over before we went there, either.)

So now that you agree with me, lets get our people out of there and let the Iraqis get on with taking care of their own country.

Re: CBS reporter rescued by iraqi army.

yes now the iraqi army is getting to the point where thay can and do protect their people. i dont think they are in a postion to do everything needed. such as airpower. but you werent in favor of giving them the chance. Even just a few days ago you said that the only reason al sadr left the field of battle was because he was such a nice guy when obviously he had lost enough support he had to quit.
Now he demands the iraqi govt reenstates the 1000 or so police ,soldiers who left the field of battle leaving their fellow iraqi soldiers. The soldiers who stood fast and defeated mookie. They will win that war for their people But dont run out just yet.
