WELCOME to THE IVY DIVISION Message Forum
THIS website is a private SUPPORT SITE for 4th ID veterans, active duty soldiers, family members, friends and everyone who supports our troops no matter how you feel about our leaders. Troublemakers, gossips. trolls, liars, etc are NOT welcome here. Posts that defame,, humiliate and/or intimidate other posters or the webmaster will be deleted without notice or comment. Please read the rules on the Main Page, thank you!
This forum has a long history, by interent standards anyway-unfortunately it has been abandoned for far too long due to real life circumstances knocking the heck out of what had been my very real desire to keep this board alive and well forever so that all of us could meet here and communicate with each other everyday.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is even needed nowadays since the advent of facebook, etc...but I hope that this once thriving BB does bring some of us back together again and that maybe some new folks will join us as well!

Combat Infantrymen's Association [CIB ]

For those who earned and wear the CIB proudly, but are unaware that the CIA exists.

The Combat Infantrymen's Association, Inc. is the All Ground Association. We are the first to designate the use of military titles to the Association's officers and non-commissioned officers. We are the first to use the US Army's Table of Organization to designate companies, battalions, regiments, etc.

The purposes for which this Association is organized are:

a. To bring together all members of the US Army who have earned the CIB.
b. To work with all duly recognized veteran and civilian groups to create an overall interest in American democracy.
c. To help veterans with rehabilitation, counseling, personal crises, etc., and to a assist their families where possible.
d. To encourage fellowship and camaraderie among veteran's groups through the Combat Infantrymen's Association newsletter, "The Blue Badge".

Re: Combat Infantrymen's Association [CIB ]

Thank you Mike for explaining the poupose of the CIA (Combat Infantry Association. I am proud to say that I earned the CIB. I trained as a 111011 Light weapons specialist (inantryman withe 512 armored infantry Co. 51st AI Bn 4th AD at fort hood TX in 1956 and has carried a Infantry MOS as a primary or seconary for most of my army career However I earned my CIB as A cavalry scout with 10th cavalry 4th ID I was also authorized to be awarded the CIB with the 1st BN 38th Inf after I left Viet Nam for serving as a scout along the barrier fence line of the DMZ in Korea. Which was also sprayed with Aggent orange I have served with infantry, Cavalry and Armor unitsI am often asked why there are only two combat badges? I really enjoy explaining why. It is because of the mission of the infantry man with the support of the medic It is the only branch that has a mission to close with and destroy the enemy by fire and manuver and to repel his asssault in hand to hand combat. I am also asked why infantry is known as the queen of battle I tell them that the pourpose of ifantry is to Find them, Fix them F them and forget them just like a queen does her subjects. We have strong appreciation for Armor and Artillery because Armor has decicive fire power and Artillery put the balls where the queen want them. FOLLOW ME.

Re: Combat Infantrymen's Association [CIB ]

Mike I have cosidered that many times but I belong to so many organizations I can,t find room in my wallet for another dues card. I put 45 years in the uniform of the US army so you can imagine the units and associations I have been involed with not including the other organizations that Soldiers get involed with for fraternal support. But if you push a little harder I will probaly print out an application and send it in.
