WELCOME to THE IVY DIVISION Message Forum
THIS website is a private SUPPORT SITE for 4th ID veterans, active duty soldiers, family members, friends and everyone who supports our troops no matter how you feel about our leaders. Troublemakers, gossips. trolls, liars, etc are NOT welcome here. Posts that defame,, humiliate and/or intimidate other posters or the webmaster will be deleted without notice or comment. Please read the rules on the Main Page, thank you!
This forum has a long history, by interent standards anyway-unfortunately it has been abandoned for far too long due to real life circumstances knocking the heck out of what had been my very real desire to keep this board alive and well forever so that all of us could meet here and communicate with each other everyday.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is even needed nowadays since the advent of facebook, etc...but I hope that this once thriving BB does bring some of us back together again and that maybe some new folks will join us as well!

Very Interesting

This all very perplexing to me. I don't see it as a Republican v. Democrat thing but a leadership v incompetence thing.

Re: Very Interesting

I have 49 of these bulbs in my house, installed from free from my utility company. Con Edison is running a program http://freelightbulbssi.com/default.aspx. And my electric bill has gone down

Re: Very Interesting

I have installed all Fluorescent lighting in my whole house. They have saved money on the electric bill in the last two years. Also we have a big problem with Lighting Strikes that will blow out regular incandescent light bulbs. I haven't lost a single Fluorescent bulb to lighting. I have also only had to replace 2 of the new bulbs in two years.

As far as getting rid of the lights, they tell us just put them in the Glass recycle bins and the recyclers do the rest.

Really its only common sense and I think that a Bill telling you what light bulb to use is unnecessary.

I never read the mentioned bill but most of the bills instruct the Federal Gov. Buildings to use the Low-E lighting.

I would have to read it because no way will I ever take Poes word for it. Hes a born liar as far as I'm concerned!!

Re: Very Interesting

I think it just shows what is going on behind America's back.

then again where is the Press to tell all of America about this.

Just more Political nonsence.

But now i know why our congress can't, It is inept.

Good post.

Re: Very Interesting

I'm converting over to flourecent myself. When people compare the wattage used, they won't need to be ordered by law. They are expensive, compared to regular bulbs, but most people should afford to buy at least one or two a monrh - and they last forever.
The equivilent brightness of a 75 watt bulb, pulls only 20 watts flourecent - and it's supposed to last 5 years.
If the government wants to look as if they are doing something important, they should encourage exploration of alternative energy sources.
