WELCOME to THE IVY DIVISION Message Forum
THIS website is a private SUPPORT SITE for 4th ID veterans, active duty soldiers, family members, friends and everyone who supports our troops no matter how you feel about our leaders. Troublemakers, gossips. trolls, liars, etc are NOT welcome here. Posts that defame,, humiliate and/or intimidate other posters or the webmaster will be deleted without notice or comment. Please read the rules on the Main Page, thank you!
This forum has a long history, by interent standards anyway-unfortunately it has been abandoned for far too long due to real life circumstances knocking the heck out of what had been my very real desire to keep this board alive and well forever so that all of us could meet here and communicate with each other everyday.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is even needed nowadays since the advent of facebook, etc...but I hope that this once thriving BB does bring some of us back together again and that maybe some new folks will join us as well!

Must have been another Senior Moment

Must have been another Senior Moment

2008: McCain "Totally In Favor" of Bush Privatization Plan.

Earlier this year, McCain said "As part of Social Security reform, I believe that private savings accounts are a part of it - along the lines of what President Bush proposed." He pointed out that I campaigned in support of President Bush's proposal and I campaigned with him, and I did town hall meetings with him." [Wall Street Journal, 3/3/08]

“Without privatization, I don’t see how you can possibly, over time, make sure that young Americans are able to receive Social Security benefits.” [C-Span Road to the White House, 11/18/2004]

June 13, 2008

During a town hall meeting in New Hampshire yesterday, John McCain told the voters, "I am not for privatizing Social Security. I never have been. I never will be."

Re: Must have been another Senior Moment

been quit a few slips, but hey he is a Republican and that is allowed.

Re: Must have been another Senior Moment

Well, he is apparently not taking his Geritol lately because he compared Obama to Paris Hilton in an insult but ironically the Hilton family has contributed several thousand dollars to his compaign. Okay, and since when has being a celebrity been a detriment to becoming president? It certainly didn't stop Reagan...or Schwartzenager from getting elected.

Once again, McCain has lost touch with his straight talk and bi partisan agenda and persona and has become the very thing he ran against years ago. I really feel ashamed of him. He is desperately trying to win by using scare tactics and making up stuff. Why doesn't he just try winning on principles and ideals and try doing what he promised like voting for vets? Am I the only one who sees this as sad and disheartening? I had respect for him once upon a time.
