This forum has a long history, by interent standards anyway-unfortunately it has been abandoned for far too long due to real life circumstances knocking the heck out of what had been my very real desire to keep this board alive and well forever so that all of us could meet here and communicate with each other everyday.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is even needed nowadays since the advent of facebook, etc...but I hope that this once thriving BB does bring some of us back together again and that maybe some new folks will join us as well!

Now this is oh so special

Sarah Palin is not considered to be a friend of the gay community, but the Republican vice presidential candidate seems to be looming over the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival.

First, a rumor got started that city officials were going to ban Sarah Palin drag queens at its upcoming costumed street party, which draws some 500,000 people annually.

The rumor turned out to be false, but tonight comes word that a mannequin has been outfitted to look like Palin -- with glasses, a beehive wig and a red business suit -- and is hanging from a noose outside a WeHo residence.

The display also depicts a devilish John McCain emerging from flames.

"We see people stopping and taking pictures, and the tour buses are stopping and slowing down ... people reach out and take pictures,"display creator Chad Michael Morrisette said.

However, some neighbors said the effigy is in bad taste. Bad taste can one say "HATE CRIME" as well as a death threat on two politicians running for public office.

For further sordid details go here:

A warning though this piece maybe suspect seeing as how it is from CBS

Re: Now this is oh so special

I'm waiting on your explanation that this is all a hoax and that it never happened.

Nor has personal property ie; automobiles and homes that have been vandalized for sporting McCain/Palin signs or sticklers have happened.

Tell me again how it is always the Republicans that do such crimes, never mind the jerks that went to jail for slashing rental cars tires at Republican committee parking lots.....

Re: Now this is oh so special

It reminds me of the picture in the AZ Republic this weekend, where a racist man hung a ghost in a tree and put Obama's name on it...he is racist and makes no bones about it....but the neighborhood was not happy about it.

It is going to happen...there are ignorant people on both sides of the fence.

Re: Now this is oh so special

****, Russ, you are getting as bad as Quano, expecting us to explain or apologize for other people's activities - activities that, in my case at least, I had never heard of until you mentioned them.

Based on your response, I am sure you will be happy to apologize to the 40 or so people who had their tires slashed in North Carolina while attending an Obama rally, right?

Re: Now this is oh so special

I have not heard of anyone having their tires slashed in North carolina.
But in 2004 there was an incident involving democrat operatives slashing the tires of buses rented by the republicans to take pepole to the polls. The individuals were found and convicted. They were college students and no doubt indocrinated by anti american professors to hate the idea of free speech. Now how about ACORN Hussiens organization being investigated indicted for the felony of registering unqualified voters having people register numerous times. As in Freddie johnson in Ohio claimed that ACORN paid him in cash and cigarettes to register 73 times. No doubt you and everyone on here considers breaking the election laws fine so long as you dems benefit. Thats the reason no democrat wants people to have to be able to ideniofy themseves when voting. Democrats want one person to be many persons.

Re: Now this is oh so special

I guess its OK to use West Holly as an Example. Personally, I wouldn't.

I had a few jobs there Back in the time Of Ronald Reagan and probably seen his image Hung and Burned 50 times. Its not considered a Hate Crime if you do it on your own property and they must also prove intent on that it,

However, I have seen people that actually Lit up the Reagan Images be sited by the Fire Department for Violation of the Open Fire and Air Pollution Laws.

As far as people being stupid like Joy says they are on both sides. In a recent Pro- Obama Womens Bridge march here in Sarasota that My daughters attended, My Oldest who manages a dept for a Major News Paper in Miami and an Obama supporter was Covering the story.

A pick up truck with a bunch of Baldies in it drove past and was Yelling "F" the "N" and hang the "N" and "N" Lovers, then threw a few eggs. One egg hit the ground and got on my daughters shoe and Pis-sed her off. She told me "If I had a gun with me, I would have Shot them"! I told her that's the reason I Insisted that she leave her 380 that she carries in her purse at home with me!

She has it on tape and took it back to Miami but the News Paper doesn't want to cover it. Seems its rather old news to them. They did do a story on the Biggest Pro Dem march in Sarasota's History.

BTW- Any story I read that occurs in West Holly to me is old news. Most people in So. Cal don't even pay attention to it. Although the Halloween Parade is always pretty entertaining!

Russ, you are getting as bad as Quano, expecting us to explain or apologize for other people's activities..

Jack I have no idea why you posted the above as I have no expectations of such from you or anyone else on this BB.

A simple recognition that the acts occur is enough for me.

Re: Now this is oh so special

Sorry, Quano, but ACORN is an independent group with several divisions - not associated with the Obama campaign and certainly not with me. You will have to excuse me if I don't feel all guilty over other folks' misbehavior.

But just as an FYI, there have been no indictments of Acorn personnel. You do have a Republican Secretary of State kicking up a fuss in an effort to keep ACORN from registering voters in Indiana - but his opinion that laws have been violated don't mean anything unless he can convince a prosecutor to act.

So far, it just looks like another Republican attempt at voter suppression. I will bet that in the end nothing will come out of it.

Yes, some of the people that they have contracted for the work have done wrong - the Republicans have had the same problem. In fact, the Republicans are the only ones so far to actually have one of their contractors arrested for frauc.

This is not good boyz and girlz!!!

While we’re on the subject...

(October 27, 2008)——The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Monday it has broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and to shoot or decapitate another 102 black people in Tennessee.
Agents disrupted the plans of two neo-Nazi skinheads to rob a gun store and target an unnamed, but predominantly African-American high school, according to court records unsealed Monday.

Re: Now this is oh so special

What just 102 people???

Well i just those Skinheads are not as committed as were have been led to believe.

Two whole skinheads running their mouths and it is National news...go figure.

The figure of 102 is interesting ...could it be that 102 bullets was all those two chumps could afford to buy?

Re: Now this is oh so special

Yeah, the two guys are dufuses - but they had done enough to think that they were potentially dangerous to people on the streets. They probably never had any chance of getting close to Obama - but lunacy is often contagious and that concerns me a little.

Re: Now this is oh so special

You can try and minimize it all you want, but the moral to this story is pretty much what Jack stated.... however, I’m not surprised you don’t see it.

Re: Now this is oh so special

Havana I guess you and Jack just haven't understood a thing I've been trying to say.

It is utterly reprehensible for anyone to take the law into their own hands.

Also as much as I vehemently disagree with Berry Hussein Obama's socialist politics I do not wish him shot because of his politics.

Now I do not know anymore English words to try and explain that I believe in this Republic and her laws and do not subscribe to anarchy in any guise.

Re: Now this is oh so special

Russ, you are right I never have understood most of the things you’ve said....
