This forum has a long history, by interent standards anyway-unfortunately it has been abandoned for far too long due to real life circumstances knocking the heck out of what had been my very real desire to keep this board alive and well forever so that all of us could meet here and communicate with each other everyday.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is even needed nowadays since the advent of facebook, etc...but I hope that this once thriving BB does bring some of us back together again and that maybe some new folks will join us as well!

The Government Has Destroyed The Economy

The Democrats got the ball rolling, the stupid bailout scheme is finishing the job.

The more the Government fiddles with the system the worse the situation becomes.

Congress should stop the bleeding and refuse to further fund the mess.

Bankruptcy will allow the auto industry and others to restructure.

A lot of the needed repairs have been accomplished, simple reduction of government meddling in stuff they are too stupid to address will help the issue.

When the government gets out of the picture, the Stock Market will stabilize and consumer confidence as well.

Taxes need to be reduced immediately for everybody still paying taxes!

No more stupid "stimulus" schemes! (I would like the check, it would do nothing for the economy)

It's up to Congress to save us or destroy us.....

Re: The Government Has Destroyed The Economy

It seems as if we now have a democrat controlled house and senate. Chosen by a majority vote that was fed up with the previous administration. Live with it.

Re: The Government Has Destroyed The Economy

Okay, Russel, straighten me out here. Did somebody really sell you that bill of goods - you being perfectly willing to buy in, since it supports what you see as your team? Or is this another one of those places where you really don't have a tiny little clue what is going on, but are willing to say anything in an effort to support your team?

It is true that the government certainly helped destroy the economy - former senator Phil Gramm and his buddy John McCain played a major role in the deregulation of the financial industry, allowing them to create the scheme that would have brought the financial industry to a complete stop without the promise of cash to the major banks.

The only thing that will stop the bleeding is an increase in consumer spending - that is the way that it has always worked. Anybody stupid enough to believe that putting 3 million or so workers out of work will cause an increase in spending is too ****ed ignorant to be giving any kind of advice on the economy.
