The Ivy Division Forum

THIS website is a private SUPPORT SITE for 4th ID veterans, active duty soldiers, family members, friends and everyone who supports our troops no matter how you feel about our leaders. Troublemakers, gossips. trolls, liars, etc are NOT welcome here. Posts that defame,, humiliate and/or intimidate other posters or the webmaster will be deleted without notice or comment. Please read the rules on the Main Page, thank you!
This forum has a long history, by interent standards anyway-unfortunately it has been abandoned for far too long due to real life circumstances knocking the heck out of what had been my very real desire to keep this board alive and well forever so that all of us could meet here and communicate with each other everyday.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is even needed nowadays since the advent of facebook, etc...but I hope that this once thriving BB does bring some of us back together again and that maybe some new folks will join us as well!

Museum of American History

The Smithsonian has refurbished this museum, adding new space to cover Vietnam. Their online site is at I have suggested one change to their site, and have not received a reply yet. They state that Nixon started the withdrawal in 1970. I remember the 9th Division sending some troops home in '69. No big deal, but for all the millions they spent, they ought to get it right.

Re: Museum of American History

Hello Tom long time. Thanks for the update on the MAH.

Hope all is well and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday.

Still cherish your book as it sits with my other military autograhed books by special people who have touched my life.

Oh and Happy New Year also

Re: Museum of American History

ps and one these days hopefully we will be able to see Operation Wayne Gray / Battle for Hill 947 included in the history of the Vietnam War.

Re: Museum of American History

Mike, Thanks for the kind words. Speaking of Wayne Grey. Did anyone here see John Bauer's article on the mission into the Plei Trap, which was in the VFW magazine? I think it was last Spring, maybe March.

Re: Museum of American History

I mirror what Mike wrote. I cherish the "Light Ruck" book you sent me and my son, Chandler, cherishes the autograph book you sent to him a few years ago. Just as an update, Chandler is in his second year at the Unviersity of San Francisco as an army ROTC scholarship recipient and he is faaaaaar more gung-ho than I ever was about the army. He even loves the "butch" haircut. Ugh!!
