Function Key
Use this key in conjunction with the number and symbol denoted on the upper left of the keyboard key to type numbers and symbols on the numeric keypad.

OK Key
Press to minimize application/page when working within applications such as Calendar, Messaging, Word Mobile, Notes, and Tasks.

Start menu Key
Press to display the Start menu.



Using the Function and Shortcut Keys
The Thumb Keyboard keys perform additional functions when pressed in the combinations indicated.

The Function key is located on the left side of the keyboard. Symbols and numbers used in conjunction with the Function Key are located on the upper left of the keyboard keys.

Function Key + any key
Enters characters printed on the upper left of the key (indicated in black).

Function Key + Num Tab
Toggles on function keys. Press Function Key + Num Tab to toggle off.

Function Key + Lock Shift
Locks on capital letters. Press Function Key + Lock Shift again to toggle off.

Function Key +
Used for selecting alternate characters and symbols to replace a character.

Function Key + down arrow
Page down

Function Key + up arrow
Page up

Function Key + left arrow
Scrolls left

Function Key + right arrow
Scrolls right



“Sticky” Keys
The integrated keyboard uses a “Sticky” Key feature for the Shift and Function keys (known as “key modifiers”). This means that when you enter a number or symbol requiring a combination of keys to be pressed, the key modifier will stay engaged until you press the second key. It is not necessary to press both keys at the same time.

These symbols appear to the right of the Input Selector icon at the bottom of the screen to illustrate when the keyboard is in a certain mode.

Function Key
Function Key has been pressed once. The next button pressed will type a symbol or number.

Function Key + 1
Locks on numbers and symbols. Press Function Key + Num Tab to toggle off.

Function Key + A
Locks on capital letters. Press Function Key + Lock Shift to toggle off.



Accent Characters
To type any of the accent characters, press the letter you require to be accented, then press the Function Key and the Symbol/Space bar. Continue pressing the Function Key and the Space bar until you reach the desired special character. For example, if you press a, then the Function Key and the Symbol/Space bar, the a will result in à. If you press the Function Key and Space Bar again, the à will change to á. If you continue to press the Function Key and the Space Bar, the accent mark over the a will continue to change.

To type a capital letter with an accent, press and hold down the Shift key and press the desired letter, then press the Function Key and the Space Bar. For example, press Shift + a, then press the Function Key and the Space Bar, the A will result in à. Refer to the following table for a list of special characters.

To type a backslash () on the Thumb keyboard, first press the Function Key + P to create a forward slash (/), then the Symbol/Space Bar key to change it into a backslash ().
