Sadly passed away today.One of the best singer/song writers this country has ever produced.His unique way of delivering a soul/folk tune was second to none.His tune may you never always sends a shiver down my spine every time I here it.I have spent many an hour in the bottom of a bottle listening to his albums.Solid Air,Bless The Weather,London Conversation, One World,all classics.I know we would never normally talk about a folk singer on this board but, this has rocked me more than loosing, Hubbard,Davis and so on.John Martyn certainly had a lot of demons and was even ( so rumor has it, last longer and out do KEITH MOON!!!!)Channel $ made a great documentary on him last year.He had a choice of give up drinking and cocaine or loose his leg, guess what he chose!! His words " I always wanted to be a pirate" Rest in peace big man.....GUTTED!!!
