The New Mastersounds - Ten Years On (One Note)

Formed in 1999 The New Mastersounds celebrate a decade of quality funk with the release of their 6th studio album. The aptly titled 'Ten Years On' features all the main players from 2008's 'Plug And Play' with guest appearances from the likes of Sam Bell, JD73 and Chip Wickham. Opening with 'San Frantico' (a slightly cheeky and still very funky jam) we're back in familiar territory except there's something cleaner about this album, almost a more assured outing from them. Stand out tracks include 'The Road To Fuji', 'Flimsy' and 'Chocolate Chip' featuring Chip Wickham on flute. Worth picking up the CD for the bonus track, 'Nothing But The Water II' featuring a stirring vocal from Grace Potter. 'Ten Years On' should have a subtitle '..and still going strong!'

'Ten Years on' is released on One Note Records on 16th November 2009.
