I'm currently reading the autobiography of Quincy Jones and can definitely recommend it. It's a compelling and interesting read. He lists a few of his hero's - Charles Mingus, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Miles Davis to name but a few. If you're interested in getting hold of a copy the ISBN number is 0 340 71728 9. The cover price is £20, but im sure you can get it cheaper if you search the web
