Ladies and Gentlemen, what can we say? Soul City reached the grand old age of 3 and we celebrated it in true style!!!
Thanks to all who came, new faces and old, for making it a memorable one - we were smiling for days, hopefully you were too!
Particular thanks to the dj's ...Neil Pierce, who played, we think, one of his best ever sets, the man was on fire! And of course to DJ Spen, rocking the party with some absolute killers and then groovin on to the sounds of Soul City's very own residents matt eatmysoul and si finnegan - the boys were inspired.
So a month on, and a few brain cells lighter, we look forward to September (after having a summer holiday in August!) and we're going back to our roots.
It's a family affair when this man graces the decks - he knows and LOVES the soul city crowd and certainly knows how to rock the basement. He's firing on all cylinders, raring to go, so get set for some hot dancefloor action, some beats to make the crowd smile............ CHRISSY T IS IN THE HOUSE!
As we all know, Chrissy is reknowned for playing his favourite disco grooves and championing the more soulful and gospel influenced side of the music. A seminal part of Bobby & Steve's "Zoo Crew" and co founder of the Garage City parties (where we learnt house), Chrissy has been loved far and wide around the world.
More to the point, he absolutely tore it up at Soul City both times when he played before .....so we couldn't resist in having him back...
Joining Chrissy, and making this one helluva weekend for all of us - as we travel up to Mancester to spin with the Development Boys on Friday night, Tom Lynch & Chris Feinmann will be bringing their inimitable style back down south to the basement . Expect the unexpected !
