Following the huge success of their 10th Anniversary party back in September 2006, BBE Records, The Doctor’s Orders & Bacardi B-Live have teamed up again for BBE 10.5. Marking 10 and a half years of releasing real music for real people. Another stellar line up of international talent has jumped on board to represent the musical diversity for which the label is known and loved.

The line up this time around has a distinctly cross Atlantic feel with 4 of the best names in American dance music alongside their label mates from this side of the pond & across the English Channel. All have worked with BBE records and are clear of the philosophy behind the label and parties and share a passion for soulful dance music that has seen them congregate here.

Having started work in the music industry as a club promoter BBE’s founder and driving force, Pete Adarkwah, knows what it takes to throw a good party and we definitely have all the ingredients here. With each room representing a different music style and packed with the best DJs in the world, some of whom will be playing different sets in different rooms there will be no place to hide but as part of the masses on the dance-floor.

“The Kings of Hip-Hop” take up room one, with the Philadelphia phenomenon, DJ Jazzy Jeff returning after his incredible set at the 10th Anniversary party to once again bless London with a roof raising party mash up of Hip-Hop gold. Joining him for his 1st of 3 sets on the night is the incomparable DJ Spinna. At true genre crossing DJ he is as adept at spinning and creating Hip-Hop as he is House. Having made his name producing beats as one half of Jigmasters his Hip-Hop pedigree is already widely recognized but he will be doing his bit to show he has not lost the knack for the old boom bap. Representing the UK are DJ Spin Doctor & Mr Thing, both truly gifted party rockers they will be showing that London can definitely punch its weight.

“The Kings of Soul” are represented in fine fashion by legends from each side of the Atlantic. Norman Jay is synonymous with the UK Soul scene and having played arguably the finest set of the night at the 10th Anniversary party it would have been foolish not to have invited him back. Hailing from North of the border Keb Darge is the champion of the Northern Soul & Deep Funk scenes. His releases on BBE have always proved incredibly popular and he will be showing us exactly why on the night. Making sure that we get the most of them DJ Jazzy Jeff & DJ Spinna will both be blessing us with a little heard selection of the original grooves that have inspired them and generations of beatsmiths alike. Expect to be taken on a trip of Soul, Disco and Funk from every corner of the USA & beyond.

Joe Claussell brings the sound of his seminal club, Body and Soul, to the “The Kings of House” room and it is here that he will come to the fore. A manipulator of the crossovers, Joe never fails to ooze the best of soulful dance music. Showing up here once more is DJ Spinna whose set is sure to be the perfect blend of original Disco & House favourites crafted with turntable trickery that is the envy of many a lesser DJ. Extra support is provided by London’s finest DJ/producer Neil Pierce and BBE’s own Pete Adarkwah.

An addition to the line up at the Anniversary party is room four dedicated to “The Kings of Techno” and manned with a certain Detroit charm & flair by Carl Craig. As a leader in the second wave of Detroit Techno Carl regularly features in the top spots of many of the world’s best DJ lists and is revered as much as he is adored by his clubbing crowds. With a string of production credits under various guises always providing something refreshing and new his set is sure to prove a highlight. Joining him is the Parisian master of Techno / House DJ Deep. With hugely popular releases on BBE and packed residencies throughout Europe this room is sure to be a welcome addition to the night.

The genuine love of music and the will to spread that love to anyone wise enough to hear that message is what has brought all the DJs / Producers and BBE Records together.
