Light of the World - Jazz Cafe - Saturday 22 September 2007

Blinding night out last night!

Thanks to Hilly, Gee Bello and everyone for a great night at the Jazz Cafe last night.

Karen and I made a rare excursion from deepest, rural Hampshire.

LotW were brilliant!

We thorougly enjoyed the whole evening (apart from being very crowded and a chatty crowd at times).

This was the Gee, Nat, etc version, as opposed to the Beggar & Co original Kennie, Baps and Breeze version of LotW.

The sax and trumpet playing was mind blowing! But the whole band was fantastic... the sound mix was great...

Purists may not like the way LotW filled their set last night with covers, such as Maze's 'Before I Let Go' and Fatback's 'I Found Lovin' - and of course 'Always There..!

But we thoroughly enjoyed last night.

Oh, and followed by a great set from Chris Hill. Incredibly the first time in all my 27 years of living in the SE and loving soul music that I have seen Chris play out live!

All in all one of the best nights out we have had in years - along with Incognito at the Jazz cafe back in January.
