TM Juke & The Jack Baker Trio Present...Boto And The Second Liners (Tru Thoughts)

What started out as an album of tracks covered in a South American style was quickly (and quite rightly) ditched to make way for what could arguably be Tru Thoughts strongest album yet! "Boto & The Second Liners" is a quite wonderful collection of party grooves (both street and club) that harks back to the classic period from early 70's through to the mid 80's, covering everything from Latin-Funk through to Hip-Hop & Go-Go.
Once again we have some wicked instrumentals, "Heads High(er)" is outrageous, "Yeah The Crab!" is an instant block-party classic and "Echoes From The Surface" is just plain-& -dirty-funk! Also there are some very cool vocal tracks, which although dominated by the girls (Alice Russell, Andreya Triana & Belleruche's Kathrin deBoer) none can touch Gecko Turners' outing on "Party Tunes", which could easily be the best thing i've heard all year!!!
Oh and if you were wondering The Jack Baker Trio is actually just Jack Baker, but after delivering an album this could he can call himself whatever he likes - I'll still be funking away to his music!
