The current group of motelers is planning on staying at the Highland Inn. It's considerably cheaper the the Antelope and within walking distance of downtown Alpine. Also, the interiors of the units at the Highland are actually nicer than the Antelope although the exterior might be a bit worse. Rumor has it that the cost of sharing a room at the Highland is close enough to the cost of camping that a certain long time camper is considering staying at the Highland. The one thing that rooms at the Highland lack is a kitchenette, so if you are one of the few who find that useful, you may have to stay at the Antelope. Regardless of what motel you choose, make your reservation early. There is a major pipeline going through the area and they are currently keeping the motels full.

I heard that rumor also. Another factor is just getting everyone together I heard.
