I'm in Plantersville 120 miles north of Galveston. Constant rain with light to moderate wind. Our issue will be flooding and possible tornados. Gerald, Cindy, Ronnie and families on Houston far north side. John and Brenda are surely in it too. But Steven Donnell is down south.
Now Harvey moving toward Hill Country. Then, the weather models predict its path, but don't really know. Looks like it's going to hover around and drop way to much rain.
Prayers for everyone's safety.
DD
I'm in Marlin, Central Texas, about a 4 hr drive to Galveston. Woke up to light rain and little wind. DD, I pray that's all you get hit with from Harvey! Prayers to those closer to the more intense areas! We Watched the news report showing Rockport as receiving extensive damage!
We be fine here, very little wind, 9 1/4" rain so far, very little wind. I have 15 foot tall Lugustrums all around the yard, 30 years old, very thick and hardy, very little wind gets to the house or in the yard. Where it floods here the elevation is 10 to 12 foot, I'm at 33 feet, on a hill. When the water rises, we have to drive the long way around to get to town. No power loss so far. If it wasn't for the weather reports you wouldn't know it was a Hurricane. I wish everyone the best of luck and be safe, don't take crazy chances.
Well, up here in the desert, we've had 2.5" of rain over 2.5 days. If any of you web-footed bikers need a place out of the storm, gimme a holler. I tried to check on Hippi but his home phone is disconnected & he's not answering his cell phone.
Good morning all
As of last night we had 8 1/4" here. Emptied my rain bucket as it was almost full. Not much overnight. I believe the worst of the rain is done here. Our pastor said yesterday he has a brother in Rockport and mother near there in an assisted living home who has been moved to Brenham. He was having a tough time over how things are going for them.
Prayers to all in the storm.
Yall have a great day and hopefully start drying.
We have been hammered here the last 24 hrs. 20 1/4" so far, little standing in the yard, running off pretty quickly so far. Right now our only escape road has some water over it, it is higher than me so it will drain quickly when the rain stops, it is still passable.
Guys, I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and praying for you almost constantly. The new battery for the 'Grey Lady' is due in tomorrow. Best of luck to you all.
