There's a pretty self-explanatory customer video with this particular example. Amazon reviewers seem to think they do the job.

The only kind of pin locks I've used were for cap and lapel metal emblems or decorations. The only kind of clip system were the kind where the back clip had 2 small " wings " you would squeeze these to lock or unlock. Always worked for me.
