If you need to renew, you may be eligible to renew on-line. But I believe, that every-other renewal must be in-person (for an eye exam). With Covid rules in place, in order to appear in person, you must make an on-line appointment. Today, I set an appointment for mid-October (3 months away) because that was the soonest I could get in at the DL office (Georgetown) of my choice.

And since my DL expires much sooner than mid-Oct, because my license expired after Mar. 13, 2020, it'll still be good to go for awhile according to this:
