I bought 87 octane gasoline in San Angelo on Sunday for $2.55.9, by the time I filled up on Tues in L Hill, it was 2.73.9. Ahhh, America, ain't it great.
It cost 40.00 to fill up Johns truck.
50.00 to 60.00 to fill up mine.
That is once a week for John and about every two weeks for me.
Ain't driving fun???
Diesel was $2.71 last week. Now is $2.66.
Gas was $2.59 last week, is now $2.62.
Now, that was yesterday, today, who knows? I was so glad to see deisel drop. It's about time.
Give it a couple of weeks, it wil be back t around $3 a gallon, I have faith in that.
I saw on the news that Shell, Exxon and Mobile are being sued for price fixing.......the facts areskecthyright now. That wl be interesting to see develop.
Just wondering how the gas gets used in a truck??? Doesn't it just set there until something needs to be hauled? How often does the XII need to be filled. Mine is about once a week on normal work weeks.
I'm just a few days behind the times, but here's some interesting facts. If I step on anyones toes, my apologies, but this is what I see almost every day.
The refiners (oil companies) dont' regulate the price of gasoline. The stock/commodity market does.
An oil company agrees by contract to buy crude oil at a given price for "X millions of barrels" at a time.
The price of gasoline on the "spot market" is what the wholesalers (jobbers) buy it for from the refiners. There is the federal taxes & state taxes added in there, then the jobber mark up, then the retailer mark up.
As of today the spot market for a gallon of unleaded gasoline was $1.98..........the rest is taxes & mark up.
