Re: Re: New Members

Welcome Newbies!!

Glad everyone made it home safely! Thank the LORD!

One incident while riding in the TEXAS Hill Country while you were off celebrating and upholding our reputation. A close - REAL CLOSE- encopunter with one of our beloved Hill Country denizens. Since ENOK already has "The Deer Slayer" and to be truthful, I am going to nickname the Scooter "The Deer Bruiser".
I sawe him coming and realized if I tried to stop he would T-bone me, so I cranked the throttle wide oopen and almost made it clear. I felt him hit the rear of the scooter but it didn't affect it much. MNt grandsom who was ridimng about 200 yards behind me said he hit the scooter with his nose which knocked him down, but that he got back up and just stood there to watch him ride on by. Praise the LORD. I really don't want to try and out-do Enock, Dave and Speedball.
Ride safe and Keep the Rubber Side Down!

Glad you are OK, Viejo.

Re: Deer encounter.

I had a similar encounter a few years ago prior to the big incident. I made a right turn onto RR473 and the next thing I know is I have a deer running alongside of me on my left obviously wanting to get to the other side of the road. Thinking that If I hit the brakes, it would run right into my path, I hit the gas. I felt a slight tap on the bike but not enough to even make the Voyager twitch course. As I looked in my right side mirror, I saw the deer stumble into the ditch. Checked the bike over later and there wasn't any sign of an encounter.

Maybe it's the dry weather but I've been suprised by how many deer I've seen lately at times of the day that they are usually less active.

Bruce, glad your encounter wasn't serious.
