Re: Ignit. harnes

IF he chooses to replace rather than repair, He needs the ignition switch with the attached wire harness, called a switch-assembly-ignition, part #27005-5063 and includes the bike key since the old key won't work there. It's a little more labor-intensive to remove than the faux-tank holder oner thingy knob.
Bike Bandit wants $95 for one & they don't have any removal labor.
Clyde, if you do this, you need to get your own key cut with Rick's ignition cut on one side of the key and your old key cut on the other side of the key so that you only need one key to run the bike and to lock/unlock saddlebags with your old lock combo.

Re: Re: Ignit. harnes

Actually, I don't need the key assembly. What I need is the wire harness that attaches to the bottom of the key assembly.
I am tracing wires, but no visible breaks. Now I am looking for internal break in wire (all wires ohm out perfectly)but I am afraid it is at the end of the harness where the wires are soldered to the little round plastic covered module that attaches to the bottom of the key module. The key module is easily disconnected from the wire harness so you don't have to replace that portion. (Key assembly)I am just trying to replace the bottom portion of the key assembly so I won't have to worry about replacing or re-cutting keys.
Thanks for looking into this.
