They had put owl feathers in her mane and tail to help her to fly to that "great pasture in the sky". I dug down to the shale (about 5 1/2 ft. deep, water runs over the top of it) so she would "never thirst". Then they had me lay some hedge apples at her mouth and a long-stemmed rose across her neck. After their good-byes, I covered her up. They had me place her between two trees so their canopies would always protect her from the sun and rain.
I hope someone cares that much about me when I go!
