PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh police are searching for a man who wounded a cabbie during a robbery and trying to determine if the driver's last passenger was involved in the heist.
Police are not identifying the 30-year-old cabbie who was wounded about 1:35 a.m. Monday. They say he drove a woman to a convenience store so she could buy food for a friend. Police say a man walked up, shot and robbed the cabbie while the woman delivered the food to her friend's home.
Police are not identifying anybody involved.
The cabbie was shot in the chest and stomach and has been listed in critical but stable condition at UPMC Mercy hospital.
