Which Side Are You On?

Please join me in supporting Thomas Geoghegan for U.S. Congress. He is running to fill the seat vacated by Rahm Emanuel.

Please make a contribution on behalf of the taxicab industry to show him the support he's already shown us.

To contribute please visit our taxi driver contribution page at http://www.actblue.com/page/ctdu

Mr. Geoghegan is a Harvard-educated Chicago labor attorney. I came to know Mr. Geoghegan about a year ago, unrelated to his current run for Congress. At the time there was a lot interest in organizing amongst Chicago taxi drivers. Having been involved with this industry off and on since 1992, I understood the hardships drivers face and had witnessed the challenges of organizing drivers. I went to the library and began reading books on organizing, hoping to find something useful. One book gripped me called, "Which Side Are You On? Trying to be for labor when it's flat on its back." I was surprised to learn that the author was from Chicago. I decided to look him up and send him some stories I had written about the subject.

I figured it was a long shot to even hear back from him, but to my surprise, not only did Mr. Geoghegan get back to me, he got back to me with an idea. If you'd like to read more about this, please visit: http://pub6.bravenet.com/forum/499115540/fetch/972691/

Mr. Geoghegan fights for the little guy. Just yesterday he announced a landmark legal victory he had for uninsured families. Check out the following article from the Chicago Sun-Times to read more: http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1400619,CST-NWS-suit28.article

Please contribute to Mr. Geoghegan's campaign. As a U.S. Congressman, he will be able to advocate for taxi drivers not just in Illinois, but across the country.

Forward this on to anyone you know who would like to see a pro-taxi driver U.S. Congressman!

Thank you,

Re: Which Side Are You On?

when george is opposed to, decent meter increase, end to credit card rule, restoration of 2 suburb meter and half rate, and end to more cabs and more medallions, How in the hell can he do somehting for cabbies by voting for someone?

first he must support those 5 things, otherwise anything he says ragrading cabbies is a full nonsense.
