TAXICAB INDUSTRY NOTICE

GAS PRICE WATCH

The price of gasoline published by AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report for the Chicago Metropolitan Statistical Area for May 29, 2009 is $2.71 per gallon.

In accordance with section 9-112-510 of the Municipal Code of Chicago, the taxicab fuel surcharge will go in effect at the AMOUNT OF $0.50 at MIDNIGHT on the SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE BUSINESS DAY that prices remain ABOVE $2.70.

The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection monitors the gas prices daily and will advice the industry prior to any surcharge going into effect.

In preparation of gas prices exceeding $2.70 for seven consecutive business days, fuel surcharge stickers will be made available June 1st at 2350 W. Ogden at the cost of $1.00 each. It is illegal to charge a fuel surcharge without posting the fuel surcharge sticker.
