Bravo to the Chicago Dispatcher and Jonathon Bullington for sticking up for cabbies against the Sun Times. Thankfully Mr. Bullington and the rest of the staff work hard to fight for cabdrivers, even though drivers should be fighting for themselves.

I've been a driver for 8 years now and I have always supported the Dispatcher by reading it and by sharing my copy with my passengers. I had a passenger this morning who asked me what I thought about the Sun Times. He then went on to tell me how he was surprised that there weren't any reader opinions on the stories mentioned in Mr. Bullington's article. I told him that, unfortunatly, most cabdrivers are content to be **** on.

I noticed that at the end of Mr. Bullington's story, he solicited responses on this post. I am interested to see if I'm the only one who responds.

I agree 100 percent with you Jerome. I wish more drivers spoke up. After that garbage came out, we should have circled the Sun Times with 500 cabs to show our disgust with them.

Then why don't you do just that! Give the media something new to print! Maybe your efforts will be ignored by the Sun Times; however the TV station certainly could not pass that up. Why not get 1000 cabs!! I haven't read the article; however if it has caused this much outrage, it must be an important issue.

Incidently, it is not that cab drivers are content to be **** on, it comes from the tendency of Americans to stab eachother in the back rather than rally around a cause together. If we did that, we would be a force to be reconed with. The media would not get away with writing bull **** about us. We can make other changes as well like lowering the fuel prices and reducing insurance costs.
