There's going to be a cabdriver strike in Chicago on Tuesday (7/31). Full participation needed.

Was the strike successful? I'm not in Chicago and didn't see the news.

Depends on who you ask. The media said no. But I saw the empty cab stands and the full cab garages so I have a very different opinion.

You went on strike. So what? Nothing will change except u lost a days pay.

If there are about 25% of all drivers joining a union with a commitment of 2.5% of time or pay, the table will be turned.

Who can make the decision for 25% fare increase, and who can make the decision to join the union? If there only 2.5% drivers who can start to act seriously, we can all stand a chance!

I disagree. The message was sent loud and clear to the city.

The strike did something. It gave the COmmissioner an opportuntiy to go to the Sun Times and/or the Tribune and publicly deabse herself with more lies.
