Jackson Reins in Cabbies

Jackson reins in cabbies
JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) – The Jackson Town Council is considering several new regulations for cab companies, including cab inspections and drug testing for taxi drivers.

The council might also regulate fares and require drivers to display identification cards.

Cab drivers say they support more licensing and inspection requirements, but they don't like the idea of regulating fares.

Jackson Mayor Mark Barron says he's received a lot of complaints about taxi service in Jackson Hole. He says people complain about inconsistent fares as well as the appearance of cabs and those who drive them.
