The one dollar surcharge is not doing cabdrivers any good, if someone gets in the cab and says take me to Highland Park. The one dollar surcharge is an insult. The fare meter increase would be more sufficient.
It's time we get new leadership in Chicago, who will clean up the corruption in consumer services. The commissioner is like a vampire who is thirsty for blood money and sucks it out of the cabdrivers pockets.
