Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

you have to prove how much you drive. if you lease the cab out you are an owner and not a cabdriver.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

Ahmed,

I don't have to prove a **** thing to you. Who the hell are you to tell me I have to prove something to you?

John

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

mr. john please dont get nasty as I did not mean to make you upset. i should have used a different word than prove but i dont have a large vocab. alls i was saying was that a cab driver is somebody who drives a cab for a living and the way to know that is by showing that you have driven full time for a long time. thats why i said a weekly lease and a chauffeurs license for three years. otherwise how can u know who is a driver and who is not?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

I don't drive a cab full time but I do depend on it to make my mortgage payments.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

Well I dropped 40 grand as a down payment on my medallion and vehicle. I drive it and I lease it out. How much I drive is nobody's business but mine.

John

What a stupid conversation

This is the silliest debate I have ever heard. "You're not a real cabdriver." Who wants to be considered a cabdriver anyway? What is the purpose of this discussion? I tell my in laws that I'm an entrepreneur.

Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

I got my chauffeurs license eight years ago and drive about one weekend a month. Am I a cabdriver?

Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

If I recall correctly Georges' proposed ordinances were printed in the Chicago Dispatcher and there was a hearing where drivers could give their opinions before any decisions were made. This is not the same.

Responding to:

"Secondly, I don't know how in the world you of all people can criticize or question Wolf, Nathan, Tang or anyone about not consulting with others before taking action on behalf of cabdrivers. Did you conveniently forget that you put together a proposed amendment regarding higher lease rates without consulting anyone? I didn't."

Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

Amanpreet,

Although the two situations aren't completely the same, there is are some similarities. The people that prepared both the petition for an injunction and the people that prepared the proposed amendments to rules and regulations did so without consulting the majority of taxi drivers for their opinions and went ahead and submitted these documents on behalf of taxi drivers.

My point is that if George expects the people that submitted this petition for an injunction to consult drivers, then he needs to play by his own rules. It's a two way street in the real world.

Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

Is this Melissa the strike lady? I hope not. If anybody ever wants to know why drivers are not united all they have to do is read this posting by Melissa.

Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

Mr. Khan -

Yes, I'm the person that called the strike.

I will never take responsibility for taxi drivers not uniting and how dare you place blame on me, Mr. Khan. What have you done to organize taxi drivers? Anything? If you haven't put forth effort to organize drivers, how can you criticize me?

As for my posting, I am very disappointed with George's posting to Wolf Weiss and I have the right to voice my opinion.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

It was not my intention to make it personal with you Melissa and I am so very sorry. I was criticizing the situation.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

Apology accepted. I hope that you are able to see the situation for what it truly is.

Melissa

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

I think I do. I hope you do, too.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

I do, it's unfortunate.

Re: Re: On discussing Court Cases Here

Hey, excuse me for hitting your tender spot again.

The post is an insult? I just see it as a well-placed, good-intentioned critique.

Lighten up brother Geo.

I am missing your point about the surchrge expiring anyway.

As far as I know it's "on" until DCS says it's "off" or until gas drops below the trigger.

One man's trash is another man's gold.

One man's insult is another man's praise.

You do go overboard from time to time. We all do....

Replying to:

Wolf,

You're doing it again. As I said, I'm not going to put up with it. You used to get a pass because you are a taxi driver. That no longer applies because I'm simply not going to tolerate you insulting me in a cowardly and dishonest way.

You and your lawyer didn't understand the ordinance when you filed your petition so you're trying to bury that point by insulting me. It won't fly.

The surcharge does not expire in 60 days. Your argument is trash. You acted unilaterally with such arrogance on something that affects 12,000 other taxi drivers without making the slightest effort to reach out to them. Even the city doesn't do that.

I provide a way for you to reach out to your fellow drivers through the Chicago Dispatcher and this forum and I don't charge you a penny for it and you insult me for that.

It's people like you who make it worse for taxi drivers.

George

All cab drivers and supporters, pls stop being divisive!

We should all argue less among each other and talk more in good manner about how to improve our cab driving life.

Let's stop being divisive.

Lets talk about how to help our cause.

UNITED WE STAND
DIVIDED WE FALL

Re: All cab drivers and supporters, pls stop being divisive!

I agree. The only way cabdrivers can gain any power with the city is by working together.

Re: Re: All cab drivers and supporters, pls stop being divisive!

You're an expert on that aren't you, George.
