Re: The logic of Commissioner Norma Reyes -- Work with her!

Roger. and a big ten-four, base.

Oh yah, in the affirmative!

That's all I need, a noisy, nosy, snooty blind-as-an-old-bat commissioner riding shotgun with me.

"Why I don't see any need to shoot the guy who is aiming that OOOZIE at us."

I am 10-20 to the max.

"We have fare information, shared-ride information, surcharge information and information about who's driving the cab. You don't want to put too many
messages back there. There doesn't seem to be an urgent need for this information about the new penalties", said Consumer Services Commissioner
Norma Reyes.

If cabdrivers are truly concerned about their safety, Reyes said they should work with her to make certain that "every single driver" in Chicago complies with the city's mandate to accept credit cards.

"The reason drivers are targets for crime is that they work alone and they work in a cash business," the commissioner said.

Cabbies remind: It's a felony to attack drivers

June 23, 2008

Replying to:

How about all the money being jacked out of drivers and owners by the Department of Administrative Hearings, hundreds per day, thousands of dollars lost to city corruption, mismanagement, robbing, stealing and thieving us to death.

The Commissioner of Discontent doesn't "see any need " to take measures that can help protect cab drivers and improve safety.

One might say that the commissioner's heart is in the right place, but she doesn't have heart, the mayor ate it.

Message: According to Sun Times reporter Fran Speilman, the commissioner did not "see any need" to have these signs.

Of course, he commissioner does not see any need for a meter increase ether.

She didn't see a need for a surcharge until a year later when it was too late to any good.

She did see the need to cut Skokie and Burbank rates by 33.33%.

And she did see the need to triple raise minimum fines and boost the maximum to $1,000.

She saw the need to assume the powers of a judge, too.

The question is whether anyone sees a need for the commissioner.

Re: Re: The logic of Commissioner Norma Reyes -- Work with her!

Sure, why not just take all credit cards. Then the city can control where our hard earned money goes. Why, they might even pay us say 70% of our take a month or two later if they wish. This way the fines can come out of our earnings automatically. Isn't this better for us? Its time to fight big brother now, not later. We must circle the wagons, or sedans in this case!
