Dark alleys don't frighten me too much even though I'm a little old man next to you Big Mike. You tower over me, so I'll try to stay out of any rat infested dark alley by the Chinatown Hotel. God knows, someone might threaten to kill me over the phone there if I don't give him $125,000 - or would it be $250,000?
It strikes me that George's hired lawyer who is an "outsider" is certainly "self-interested". But on what bases do you conclude I have any "self-interest"? I have nothing I need to gain at this point in my career. At this point, I'm semi-retired. That's why I have time to answer your foolishness.
There's nothing to win - or to lose. There's no competition - for me, that is. But I'll still avoid the dark alley by the Chinatown Hotel so I can be of some use to cabdrivers who might need help one way or another.
By the by, I am awaiting the City's reply brief in the case of The Maginificent Seven. The matter is set for its next status hearing on September 22 at which time Judge Epstein is likely to set the City's motion down for contest sometime in October or November. If the City wins it, likely the Seven will be granted leave to file a Second Amended Petition.
No doubt you are rooting for the City. Why would you want cabdrivers to win?

I didn't collect signatures for George, I collected them for the cab drivers and handed them to George. Someone by the name BIG FAT MOUTH asked what did I do for them? I reminded him about the signatures I've collected, and I'm sure you've heard the news that I was stopped by police and the aviation department at O'Hare Airport for passing out fliers. I am boycotting the food stand at O'Hares staging.
I don't always agree with George on everything, but I always let him know what I don't agree with and we try to settle it one human being to another. It also goes the other way around. So I'm not stroking George. If you done something for me, I will return you a favor. It feels good to return.
I have no objections as a non-driver reaching out to help someone.
I like anyone who is nice to me, I don't kiss anybodies feet. When I had a few personal problems, George was there for me when nobody else was. I don't turn my back on anyone because that's the christian way.

Read the posting above. It says it all. Low lives deserve no responses. All of foulks assaults are being quoted verbatim to those who need to read them.
You can delete my postings or ban me from your site, but you will never censor or control my thoughts. I have no intention of continuing to post. It is evident that you do not want information to reach the eyes of cab drivers and others in the taxi industry through your forum from my pen.
There are other avenues of communication: the UTCC Voice; the Taxi Website for national communicatons; Wolf Weiss' CPTDA website. And I have other means of making myself heard.
If I have something to say that seems important, perhaps I will post it. But I think I will just join Weiss and boycott your forum, George. I wish you well with your One Big Union. The short answer is "NO". Read Illinois Supreme Court Rule 402. That having been said, there is a whole body of case law about people who claim their voluntary plea was really involuntrary. Since the area of law is not one in which I practice routinely, I am reluctant to comment on it at length.
A specialist in the area of criminal defense law should comment. Over the years, I have probably handled no more than 20 misdemeanor cases for cabdrivewrs and no felonies.
