Trye inspiration from "OUTSIDERS!"

"Dear Philly friends,

We just wanted to write and thank you for an inspiring, energizing, educational and outright AMAZING day yesterday! Congratulations to all of you on the meeting at the airport lot and the train station. The broad range of support - various unions, industries/sectors, religious leadership, students and so many members of the media - is a testament to the ground breaking work of the Unified Taxi Workers Alliance of Pennsylvania. You have built up a movement that is fearless, dedicated, honest, full of heart and soul and most importantly, EFFECTIVE. You have made real gains in changing the day to day lives of driver brothers and sisters, raised the profile of taxi drivers, raised the consciousness of labor, the community and elected offices, and redefined solidarity. And it is unbelievable that you have done all of this - organized strikes, press conferences, marched in solidarity with others in struggle, attended every single PPA hearing, met with airport officials, and set up an office and benefits program for drivers - all of this, on a shoestring budget. I cannot imagine what you could do with more dues, more dues, more dues. Every single driver in Philadelphia, from every country, every garage/dispatch company, every neighborhood, MUST support UTWA. You are the future, the hope, the truest testament to the courage and beauty of the working class and the best union in this country. We are with you. We salute you and we thank you for every lesson you have taught us and for every moment of inspiration and courage you have given us. Power to the UTWA! Power to the Drivers!

Steve, you did a phenomenal organizing job with the events. We loved our every moment there. Chicago, thank you for all the laughs, the hugs, the solidarity and the love. Kevin, for honoring my beloved father with your beautiful prayer. Teks, for the great speeches and never tiring fighting spirit and to our brother Ron, you are pure magic. We love you all!!!

Love and Solidarity,
Bhairavi, Javaid and Bill on behalf of the NYTWA Organizing Committee
