George, please review the last three or four meter raises. All were for around 10%. Here's a wake up call for you. The spring time raise is going to be around 10%. The city is always two or three years behind in paying us what we deserve. Why can't we have the 10% now? You already know this answer as you've been told before right here in this forum.
If it were up to me, we'd get a much bigger raise in the spring. Now is not the time to be asking for more money. Listen to the news. The economy is in bad shape right now. We need the public on our side and they won't be on our side when we're asking them for more money, when they're suffering too!
We deserve to make much more money than we do. Drivers need to wake up and see what's happening here and how they're being manipulated by people who don't care about us one bit. We need unity with a legal structure and then we will have the ability to effect real change, not just yell in the streets like a bunch of hooligans so the public can ridicule us.
