George and melissa fail to understand that this strike is not just aboue 16% fare increase, this is about fair humane treatment for drivers by the city.
here are the reasons why we must strike!
1,FARE INCREASE- though gas price is going down, living costs and lease rates have gone up.
2, End TO UNFAIR CREDIT CARD RULES--cos we lose 5% or whole fare money when the card gets declined.
3, WIEDBERGS LAW- though it's a felony when cabbie is attacked- city and states attorney is not enforcing tha law.
4, CAP ON NEW MEDALLION SALES- chicago streets has too many cabs, someitmes it looks as if there are more cabs than private cars, too many cabs is hazardous and bussiness gets worse.
Also, the chauffer class should be 10 weeks instead of 2 weeks so we get more competent and drivers who know where they are going and thus less complaints by passengers.
Goerge is absolutely wrong by teaming up with REYES and opposing our strike.
