NG TF Handling

I've recently purchased a TF. I'm a bit disappointed with the handling. I have another kit car - Burlington Arrow, which corners, as if on rails, whereas the TF rolls and slides quite easily. Is this normal or can I upgrade the suspension?

Re: NG TF Handling

All these things are relative, but rolling and sliding easily is not something NGs normally do, although oversteer can be provoked - to many peoples' pleasure.
Standard MGB anti-roll bars can be fitted; but before doing that, are the dampers OK? They need not be too tight, but equally they need to work. Telescopics are better than lever arms, but the latter can be fine.
She will roll more if the springs are too long. Several lengths/stiffnesses are available. Choose to ensure that the lower wishbones are horizontal or angled slightly up. The rear should not look cocked up in the air, as it will be if you have GT springs - 6 leaf I believe.
If you are still not happy with standard MGB springs, you can get lowering front springs and lowering blocks for the back.
And what about the tyres?? Are they skinny, old and shiny. The norm is 185/65 on 15 inch rims.
Send me some pictures, if you would like to office@ngcars.co.uk and I will comment. Please note though that I am about to be away for 2 weeks.

I hope you get her sorted, one of the joys off the TF is classic lines combined with "relatively" modern suspension.
