Blackford Bloor require the 'Year of car build' for an insurance quote. I stated that the car is registered as an NG TD date of reg.1970.

They want the year of build. Told them it is an older build so pre SVA, I would guess about 20 years ago. I have had several kit cars never been asked the year of build. Have you been asked this, or is it something specific to Bloors?

I'm insured through a broker in Exmouth, Devon - Adrian Flux. I have a 1968 NG TF & I previously had a Triumph based Burlington style kit car. I wasn't asked the build year for either (the Ng was 1st insured last year). So maybe it is just Bloors

I was with Flux, I got a quote of £269 for renewal inc. a couple of add on bits like key care etc.
I thought this a bit steep so tried Bloors. (later they quoted me about £180 incl. breakdown cover.)
A friend of mine said he was quoted about £80 by RH specialist insurers, I thought this seemed a bit unreal.
I phoned RH (01277 206911 part of Equity Redstar) and was quoted £79.40p including UK/EU breakdown insurance & Legal Exp. cover. Comp. 1 year. They checked out well enough for me so I am in. Breakdown restriction not less than 1 mile from home, max £200
I was told by a person with a Sprite once that he only paid about £90 insurance, now I believe him.

I have my NGTCV8 with Flux for £175.
I have heard good reports about Frank Pickles, some very good quotes, they quoted me £145 so may well switch when renewal comes up.

My A Flux ins came through and it was £124 including some extra cover thing.
