VETERANS - London to Brighton Run

Su & I are planning to meet up with Charlie Killick this coming Sunday (2nd Nov) to watch the procession.
Charlie normally starts on the verge of the southbound carriageway of the A23 on the hill up from Crawley coming up to the roundabout at Pease Pottage as its good to see the old cars under load, especially the steamers. He then moves on to Handcross which is still a good viewing point although the pub has gone; parking OK at the village hall carpark or the recreation ground.
Hope to see some other NGs around as well
Weather forecast is not too bad at present, dry but not that warm.

Chris

Re: VETERANS - London to Brighton Run

We did take Rocket out last Sunday and met up with Charlie Killick along the A23 to watch the Veterans on the run to Brighton. Amazing to see the wide assortment of old vehicles still able to do a 60plus mile journey and some at a remarkable good turn of speed ! also surprising the variety of classic non- veterans (post 1904?) that muscle-in on the parade including Laurence Clifford and Celia in their NG-TA who we saw doing the route.
Here is a link to the photos we took of the Veterans run – we missed the Napier Racers (bother !!) they were so quick that they went through before we arrived (although we now think that one of them may have broken down in Crawley town centre)
Lucky with the weather - stayed dry but was a bit chill on the way home
