Re: NG TA bottom hose

I have looked on www. and it looks better than the Marina one, so have ordered said item. The Marina one bends outwards and ends up outside the chassis, the 1800 appears to curve in so hopefully I will get it right.
Thanks again for the pointer.

Re: NG TA bottom hose

I use a wire reinforced hose from Samco. It's rather a vivid blue colour but bought in lengths you cut it to fit your self. It copes with the bends needed on my TA at least. You can get this from performance places like Deamon Tweakes and Merlin Motorsport.

The water pumps on MGB's changed over the years and have two different outlet sizes. The early ones that have the cast elbow are different to the later ones that took the formed hose with the inbuilt heater connection.

Cheers

Re: NG TA bottom hose

Hello Jeremy.
Thanks, for your reply. I never knew MGB's used a different heater hose connection. I do have a parts catalogue from Moss so I will check it out, that is, if the 1800 one I have ordered does not do the trick.

Re: NG TA bottom hose

You can download the Moss catalogue as a PDF file from the Moss Website.

http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/MGB.aspx

If you can't view it you'll Adode Reader, there is a link below the catalogue or try this http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/

It's a faster smaller version of Adobe Reader.

Re: NG TA bottom hose

Thanks Malc. I have a hard copy. I have spent more time on valve springs and other fiddly bits and had not looked at hoses, just presuming that they used the same heater connection as the Marina, don't ask me why I thought that. I am just getting to the hose replacement stage and am looking at better ways of doing things. The original hoses have done well, but are now looking a bit tired, with a few areas almost rubbed through. Twenty odd years ago there was not so much choice to confuse you.

Re: NG TA bottom hose

Yes, the 1800 Land Crab hose fits. I just had to fit an alloy extender and hose onto the radiator and job done. Thanks for reminding me. The rest of the hoses have come from Hose World, although they short delivered an alloy joiner, which I am debating with them about.
